About the Artist

Welcome to Kay Wire Studio!

I am Kay, a 21-year-old self-taught Arizona jewelry artist specializing in wire wrapping. Each one of my pieces is handmade and one of a kind. My love of crystals and rocks started when I was little, and I had quite the collection by the time I started my wire wrapping journey. I first opened my online shop in July of 2020 after about a year of practicing wire wrapping. Since then, I have attended several art shows and craft markets where I have sold my pieces and met so many other amazing artists and shop owners.

Each piece is hand wrapped using copper (or sometimes stainless steel) wire and can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 6 hours to complete, depending on the complexity. Once a copper pendant or ring is completed, it can be either left as is, or oxidized, which creates a lovely patina. Please note, that because all my copper pieces use genuine copper, they will patina over time. There are, however, ways to slow down this process.
